APPROACH
We seek to build grantmaking relationships with nonprofit organizations with capable, accountable leadership and programs that effectively address current community needs.
ELIGIBILITY
Organization Eligibility criteria:
Foundation-designated community stewards must proactively identify your organization to be eligible for this grantmaking program. There is limited to no opportunity for unsolicited requests.
Proposal Eligibility criteria:
The Foundation considers support for new and existing programming and capital projects (e.g., new facilities, renovations, equipment, and other capital improvements) within the Foundation’s five focus areas listed below.
We will not consider proposals for programming that:
BUDGET & AWARDS
Applicants may request funding of up to $35,000, generally over 12 months. Please note that individual grant award amounts and periods will vary based on the budget size (organization and program), other funding sources, and implementation plans.
GRANT PROCESS
The Stranahan Foundation generally invites grant applications from new organizations twice a year. Application deadlines are shared as part of your invitation to apply. A high-level diagram of the life cycle of our grantmaking process is below:
